The Northwest Wisconsin Manufacturing Outreach Center (NWMOC) at the University of Wisconsin-Stout congratulates two of its manufacturing clients--Extrusion Dies Industries (EDI) and Spectrum Industries, both of Chippewa Falls, WI--for being nominated for Manufacturer of the Year Award in the medium company category. Sentry Equipment Corp. of Oconomowoc received the award in this category last week at the M.O.T.Y. black-tie awards dinner and program at The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee. “We are proud to work with small to mid-sized manufacturers in northern and western Wisconsin,” NWMOC Director Larry Blackledge commented. “They create jobs and boost our economy; they should be applauded,” he added.
Forty Wisconsin businesses were nominated for the 2009 Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Awards for manufacturing excellence. Companies were evaluated in areas such as financial growth or consistency, technological advances, product development, environmental solutions and sustainability, operational excellence/continuous improvement, commitment to employees, and effective research and development.
An independent panel of judges, with representatives from business, education, government and the media, selected the 2009 Manufacturer of the Year Award winners. More information about the Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Awards program can be found at www.wimoty.com.
