*American Red Cross - First contact for basic needs such as food, shelter, and clothing

 

      Scenic Bluffs Chapter - Serves La Crosse, Houston, Jackson, Monroe and Vernon counties

 

      Winona County Chapter - Serves Winona County

 

      Chippewa Valley Chapter - Serves Ashland, Barron, Bayfield, Buffalo, Burnett, Chippewa, Dunn, Eau Claire, Pierce, Pepin, Rusk, Sawyer, Trempealeau, and Washburn counties

 

Couleecap - Offers housing, family support, youth services, basic needs, and business development to Crawford, La Crosse, Monroe, and Vernon counties

 

Disaster Declaration - Information on the distaster declaration for the 7 Rivers Region 

 

eContractorBids.com - Connects consumers with contractors through the Internet 

 

Farm Service Agency - Provides assistance for natural disaster losses, resulting from drought, flood, fire, freeze, tornadoes, pest infestation, and other calamities to farmers and ranchers

 

*Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) - Clearinghouse for recovery services. Information on how to prepare for disasters, receiving assistance, and rebuilding

 

Great Rivers 211 - provides free, confidential community information, referrals and crisis line services 24 hours a day

 

La Crosse County Emergency Management Office - Information specifically for the county of La Crosse

 

Minnesota Recovers - Information about flood-recovery progress in communities throughout the seven-county disaster area in southeast Minnesota

 

Root Relief - Twin Cities based organization started after the August 2007 floods. Raises funds for flood victims in southeast Minnesota

 

Rushford Community Foundation - Makes contributions to serve Rushford and surrounding areas by supporting programs and projects that improve the quality of life and build a stronger community 

 

Southeastern Minnesota Development Corporation - Serves Houston, Winona, and Fillmore counties with business development, including loans

 

Storm Recovery Guide - Originally created by LSU, it has been edited by Iowa State. Many helpful tips including how to enter a home after a disaster, food, water, and other issues

 

United Way

 

      Great Rivers United Way - Helps serve Houston, La Crosse, Trempealeau, Monroe, and Vernon counties

           

      United Way of the Greater Winona Area - Serves Buffalo, Winona, and Trempealeau counties

 

U.S. Small Business Administration - Provides low interest disaster loans to homeowners, renters, businesses of all sizes and private, non-profit organizations to repair or replace real estate, personal property, machinery & equipment, inventory and business assets that have been damaged or destroyed in a declared disaster

 

        SBA Disaster Assistance

 

        SBA Loan Information - For the severe weather that occurred in June

 

UW-Extension - Resources to deal with flooding, damage to crops and general disaster assistance. Also information for farmers with crop damage
